Three Point A/C System Check
We will check the vent temperature, pressures in the system, and inspect your entire a/c system for any visible leaks. At this time we also determine if further testing will need to be performed on your air conditioning system.
If your air conditioning system is low on freon, we will need to add freon with a leak detection dye in order to properly isolate the leak.
Once a leak is identified, we will provide you with a written estimate of the repairs needed. In most cases, the repairs will be completed the same day by one of our ASE certified technicians and will carry a 3 year/36,000-mile nationwide warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Right up front you’ll notice that your car’s air is not blowing cold air. There are less obvious signs to look out for, however, that can tell you something’s not right in the AC system and a repair may be warranted. These signs include seeing moisture on the floorboards, loud or forced-sounding air when turned on, and bad odors. Spotting these issues early can help save money before a critical component in the AC system fails completely, which can result in even more repairs being necessary.
Any ASE-certified mechanic will tell you that using the recharge kit from the auto store is not a great idea unless you have the tools and experience necessary to do the job correctly. Overcharging or undercharging of the refrigerant in your vehicle, even in small degrees, can absolutely wreak havoc on the vehicle’s AC system. Unfortunately, the kits sold in stores make it very difficult to fill your particular vehicle with the correct amount of refrigerant. When in doubt, bring your vehicle in to your nearest Louetta Automotive location where our expert techs can evaluate your car’s AC system and outline all your repair options.
Your vehicle’s AC compressor is an integral component of the AC system. Getting its power from the serpentine belt, the AC compressor literally compresses the refrigerant in the system into a liquid. This compression creates a lot of pressure which helps move the liquid out of the compressor and onto the hoses that carry the refrigerant throughout the system. If the compressor has failed, this will unfortunately mean the vehicle’s AC system will not work properly.
When your car isn’t blowing cold air, it’s an obvious sign that something’s not right in your AC system and the AC compressor is usually the first place to look for signs of trouble. If you’ve noticed any extra-loud or abnormal noises, such as grinds, clicks, or squeals, your compressor’s components may be close to failing. The AC compressor is made up of several components, a few of which can be repaired, but it’s generally more cost-effective to go ahead and replace the entire AC compressor all at once.
Freon is actually a brand name for vehicle refrigerant. Your vehicle’s AC compressor compresses the refrigerant which causes pressure, turns it from a gas to a liquid, and allows for the circulation of refrigerant within the AC system. The most common type of refrigerant used in vehicles today is R134a. If you have an older vehicle, there’s a chance your vehicle is still using the older R-12 Freon. This type was banned by the EPA so our technicians will help you convert to the newer, safer R134a if you still have R-12 in your vehicle’s AC system.
When your refrigerant is running low, you may notice that your AC system is having a hard time cooling down the interior of the vehicle. There isn’t a set time/distance interval (like there is with oil changes) that a car needs to have its AC charged, but if you notice that the air isn’t getting as cold, hear any abnormal noises coming from your AC, or smell unusual odors, these are all signs that an AC service is necessary and that it’s time to get the issues evaluated by a professional.
This is definitely not recommended. Today’s vehicles have complex AC systems and if you don’t have the proper training, tools, and experience to work on each of these components, you can do a lot more harm than good. Our technicians are ASE-certified and highly experienced in automotive AC repair. If you’re having any issues with your car’s AC, bring it into any Louetta Automotive. We’ll quickly diagnose the issue and outline the most efficient means of repair. Schedule your AC service appointment online now.

We utilize state-of-the art diagnostic and repair equipment to quickly pinpoint any AC issues present in the system and then make the necessary repairs. Our complete AC System Performance Inspection includes: a compressor check, compressor cleaning, performance testing, leak check, belt and hose connection tightening, and a thorough evaluation of the system. Whatever issues you’re experiencing with your AC system, our technicians can quickly find the issue and recommend the best course of action.
The cost of an AC repair service varies widely depending on factors such as the age of the vehicle, where and how often the vehicle is being driven, and the level of maintenance on the system. If several integral components have all failed at the same time, this may require a full system replacement, which can be costly. On the other hand, the need for a simple AC system charge can be easy to diagnose and quite inexpensive. We offer estimates for all repairs so you’re never blindsided. Schedule your appointment online now for a complete AC system evaluation.
The recommended interval varies from one manufacturer to another, but a general rule of thumb is to change your vehicle’s cabin air filter every 15,000 to 25,000 miles or once per year, whichever occurs first. Be sure to check your owner’s manual for the interval recommended by your vehicle’s manufacturer. Not changing your cabin air filter regularly can leave it clogged with dust, dirt, and other debris, making it less and less effective at keeping the air in the cabin clean.
One of the ways we offer first class service is to help our customers save money wherever we can with a variety of deals on Louetta Auto services. We regularly have specials for our AC repair services available so be sure to check back often.
You may think that you can never have too much of a good thing when it comes to your car’s air conditioning in Texas, but overcharging your vehicle’s AC can lead to some big problems. One of the most noticeable signs is one you might not expect but your vehicle will usually blow warm air even with an overcharge. That’s because your car’s AC system relies on the correct amount of pressure in order to circulate refrigerant. When the pressure’s off, the system can’t function properly which can lead to various components failing.
