When To Schedule A Tire Or Wheel Service
Although every car is different, it’s a good general rule to schedule a tire rotation every 5,000 miles. Check your owner’s manual for more information – or ask one of the Louetta technicians for advice.
Tire wear and tear is inevitable when you use your vehicle often. Factors like temperature changes, sudden stops, or road conditions can put extra stress on your wheels, too. But with regular care from certified technicians, your tires will serve you safely and effectively for longer.
We understand how imperative it is that your vehicle is in proper working order. Because of this, we are introducing a new program designed with your security in mind.
The Louetta Concierge Program is a no-cost concierge service to help you eliminate unnecessary trips outside your home. We will pick up your car from your location (within three miles of a Louetta store) and return it to you free of charge after services have been completed.
Your peace of mind is as important to us as it is to you. We promise to continue to do everything in our power to eliminate uncertainties and make your life easier. We hope that the Louetta Concierge Program demonstrates our commitment to you, ensuring that you can safely be on the road when you need to be.
Proper tire rotation helps to extend the life of your tires. Consistent rotations allow tire experts to inspect the tires for adverse conditions that can negatively impact their lifespan. Catching these conditions early can minimize their damage to the tire.
Louetta associates follow the guidelines provided by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) for effective, safe tire repairs. These guidelines stipulate how tire seals and plug-fills must be done.
To extend the life of your tires, it’s important to have your wheels balanced. Unbalanced wheels wear down your tires.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Also known as TPMS, this system measures the air pressure or rotational speed of your tires to determine whether they have the proper amount of air pressure. Since most tire failures occur due to under inflation, it is important to make sure this system is working properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Tire rotations help make sure your tires are wearing more evenly. When one tire remains in a fixed position for too long, excessive tread wear can lead to a bumpy ride or even a flat tire. How frequently you need to have your tires rotated varies, but typically should be done once every 5,000 miles. You can stay ahead of that schedule by having your tires rotated at every oil change, which we recommend at every 3,000 miles.
A quick internet search will show you a lot of results for tire shops in the greater Houston area, but it won’t show you where to go for the highest-quality service and tires. At Louetta Automotive, all of our mechanics are ASE-certified, factory-trained pros with experience servicing both foreign and domestic vehicles. We also have the latest wheel alignment machines and tire balancers.

There are many off-the-shelf flat tire kits available, but these are temporary at best. When you have a flat, come to your nearest Louetta tire service center as quickly as possible. If a puncture is relatively clean, a flat tire repair may simply require a tire patch and/or tire plug to get your vehicle safely back on the road. We follow all guidelines issued by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) for safe and effective tire repairs.

You can check the recommended tire size for your vehicle by looking on the driver’s door panel or in your manual. You should see the width, profile, wheel size, load index, and speed rating.
You’ll see three sets of numbers: The first is the width, the second is the profile, and last is the wheel size. Entering this information into our online tire shop will show you all the options we have available in that size.
Our expert tire technicians will also be glad to review your options with you and help make sure you get the tires that are best for your vehicle and your budget.
If you see uneven tread wear on your tires or if you feel excessive vibration, it can mean it’s time to get your tires balanced. Tires should also be balanced after you get them rotated or have had a repair. Unbalanced tires can lead to excessive tread wear and bumpy ride. Tire balancing is just one of the tire services we offer at Louetta Automotive.
When you bring in your vehicle to us for tire balancing, our certified pros will mount your wheels and tires on our state-of-the-art tire balancers which will spin your tire and wheel assembly at high rates of speed. This spin provides a perfect measurement for the imbalance. Our technicians will then install tire weights at precise points to achieve the right balance.
There are a lot of videos online about DIY wheel alignments, but without the proper tools and equipment, you’ll likely do more harm than good if you attempt this service at home. Our ASE-certified mechanics use computerized measurements to make precise adjustments to properly align your tires. The three main measurements are camber, toe, and caster, each of which need to be in line with your manufacturers specifications in order to be in alignment.
If your wheels aren’t properly aligned, you’ll notice telltale signs like uneven or excessive tread wear, a noticeable pull one way or the other, seeing your steering wheel off-center when even when driving straight, or you may feel a lot of vibration in the steering wheel. If you’re experiencing similar issues, schedule an appointment to have your wheel alignment checked.
Absolutely. It’s easy to forget about your spare tire until you really need it in a roadside emergency. But ignoring your spare can mean having to rely on an unsafe tire that’s gone past its useful life. It’s generally recommended to replace your spare tire once every six years.
While it is physically possible, putting different tires on your vehicle is not recommended. That’s because differences like tread pattern and size can affect the control and stability of the vehicle. If you have a tire that needs to be replaced, it can be tempting to save some money and just buy one replacement if the other tires are still good. If you choose to go this route, it’s best to buy a pair of new tires that exactly match the ones being taken off. This will keep tread pattern, dimension, and internal construction equal.
If you do have to use a different tire on your car or truck in an emergency, schedule an appointment at our service center as soon as possible to get a right-sized tire installed.
Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) measures the air pressure or rotation speed of the tires in order to determine if they are properly inflated. If you see this indicator, come into any Louetta location and we’ll check to see what’s causing the issue.
